Leeds Flagship Store

North South’s flagship shop is a two-storey store located in the prime spot of Headingly Lane. Where hip-hop and rap music plays, incense burns, and students gather – it’s no wonder this store is Leeds’s number one provider for vintage wear.
Since its opening in 2022, the Hyde Park shop has been refurbished to now contain a sale section with steals from £5 as well as a curated womenswear, menswear, outerwear, and accessories. Its pine floorboards and antique interior with a contemporary edge revolutionises the shopping experience. Come drop by and grab some North South vintage today!

CITY CENTRE STORE

Store Supervisor (FULL-TIME)

North South Vintage is one of Leeds' most well-known independent vintage stores. We're looking for a sharp, motivated supervisor to become the senior presence in store. Someone who takes ownership, shows initiative, and genuinely cares about how the space looks, feels, and communicates online.

The role

  • Dress and merchandise the store to a high visual standard, following our brand guidelines and seasonal direction
  • Create and post regular, consistent social media content that represents North South's aesthetic and voice
  • Manage your own time effectively and keep the day-to-day running of the store on track without needing to be micromanaged
  • Act as the senior point of contact in store, leading by example, supporting junior staff, and maintaining a great customer experience
  • Take initiative with stock presentation, new arrivals, and the overall look of the floor

What we're looking for

  • Previous retail, supervisory, or management experience is essential
  • A genuine passion for vintage clothing and an eye for how a space should look
  • Comfortable creating short-form social content (Reels, TikToks, in-store shots). You don't need to be a creator, just consistent and on-brand
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and confident making decisions independently
  • A strong communicator with customers, with the team, and with us as the owner

The details

Contract: Full time
Location: Thorntons Arcade, Lands Lane, Leeds City Centre

City Centre store

Store Assistant (Part-Time)

Role Overview:

As Sales Assistant, you'll be a welcoming face of North South Vintage on our shop floor. With a warm, hands-on approach and a genuine love for vintage, you'll create memorable experiences for every customer who walks through the door. You'll work closely with the wider store team to keep things running smoothly day-to-day and champion our brand values in everything you do.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Experience:
Provide a warm, welcoming and knowledgeable presence on the shop floor.
Help customers find pieces they love by sharing the story behind our stock.
Champion the North South ethos in every interaction.
  • Sales & Service:
Run the till efficiently and accurately, handling transactions with care.
Support the team in meeting daily and weekly sales goals.
Build genuine relationships with regulars and first-time visitors alike.
  • Visual Merchandising & Store Standards:
Keep the shop floor tidy, well-merchandised and on-brand at all times.
Support with steaming, folding, pricing and rotating stock.
Help refresh windows and displays in line with the wider store look.
  • Stock & Operations:
Assist with deliveries, restocks and shop-floor presentation.
Support stock transfers between our Hyde Park and City Centre stores when needed.
Flag bestsellers, slow movers and customer feedback to the management team.
  • Community & Culture:
Act as a brand ambassador on and off the shop floor.
Support in-store events, collaborations and content creation where needed.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous retail experience is a bonus, but attitude and energy matter most.
  • A genuine interest in vintage clothing, fashion or design.
  • Warm, confident and at ease with people — comfortable starting conversations.
  • Reliable, punctual and proactive (in a small team, initiative goes a long way).
  • A good eye for style and detail.
  • Hands-on and solution-focused — just as happy unpacking stock as you are on the till.
  • Flexible availability across weekdays and weekends.
What We Offer:
  • The chance to work at a small growing company with a close knit team
  • A supportive work environment that values creativity, growth, and initiative
  • 20% Staff discount for personal purchases
  • Bright Exchange
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Zero-hour contract (part-time hours)
  • Hourly rate TBD
